Our Congress is finally standing up against the President of the United States, and acting out it’s actions as a coequal branch to the Executive Branch. The Executive Branch has claimed the authority to launch drone strikes on American citizens abroad.
As Sen. John Coryn said:
“We’re not mere supplicants to the executive branch, we are a coequal branch of government,” Cornyn said during discussion of his amendment in the Senate committee hearing last week. “So it is insufficient to say pretty please, Mr. President, pretty please, Mr. Attorney General, will you please tell us the legal authority by which you claim the authority to kill American citizens abroad?”
Senator Coryn, The executive branch of government got it’s authority to kill Americans abroad and at “Home” from you. Please read your own law, the NDAA and remove the offending sections that give the president that power.
